Emerging themes in PCoD models
In this synthesis, we review common themes that have emerged from Population Consequences of Disturbance (PCoD) models as they relate to assessing the risks of a proposed activity. We also highlight essential intrinsic and extrinsic factors to consider when assessing a population’s likelihood and duration of exposure and sensitivity to disturbance.
PCoD model for humpback whales
I am developing a predictive model to assess how human activities and environmental change may affect the reproductive success and survival of humpback whales. This model will be a valuable tool to inform planned activities that overlap with critical habitat for humpback whales and assess the effectiveness of proposed mitigation strategies.
